Boys Freshman Football vs. Pottsgrove Senior High School

Warriors Win: 26 - 24
With an all-out team effort yesterday the Freshman Football Team traveled to Pottsgrove and came away with an impressive win beating the Falcons 26 to 24 to improve their record to 3 and 0. Highlights of the day was the running back Justin Carfrey who behind the blocking of Mario D’Addessi, Dan Meir, Quinn Shields, Brian Stagliano, Dominic Meoli, and Kevin Trafford carried the ball 16 times for 115 yards, ran for one touchdown and hauled in a 73 yard strike from Mike Merola for another. Merola also added two more touchdowns of his own on the ground. Ryan Cassidy, Trafford, and D’Addessi led the way for what was a big team effort on defense for the Warriors. Next Thursday the team will host Norristown.

Warriors Win: 22 - 0
The Freshman Football team hosted the Perk Valley Vikings yesterday and came away with an impressive 22-0 win. An early 1st quarter interception returned for a touchdown by Joe Carfrey sparked the warriors efforts. Quarter back Mike Merola capped off an 11 play drive with a 17 yard scamper into the end zone. Late in the 3rd quarter running back Justin Cafrey took off on a 47 yard run to pay dirt to cap off the scoring. Also Adding scores on the day was Ryan Cassidy and Jordan Layos for the teams  two point conversions. Leading the way on defense was Jude Wozniak with 11 solo tackles and another interception by Tyler Conrad finished off the Vikings. The Freshman team will travel to Pottsgrove next week to take on the Falcons.
