Nicolette Serratore and the rest of the Methacton Girls track and Field team did not let the 20 degree wind chills on Saturday impact their performance at the PTFCA Classic held at PW High School. Serratore won the javelin with a throw of 125' 1" and the triple jump with a leap of 36' 2.5" and was named the Female Athlete of the Meet. Both marks have qualified her for the District 1 Championships in May, but she was only one of several athletes to reach the qualifying standard.  In all, there were 8 district qualifiers and 17 medal winners.

Fellow senior Jenny Martin had a stellar day, first winning the Long Jump with a mark of 16' 4".  She then finished 2nd in the jav with a district qualifying distance of 123' 0".  Later, competing in an event she had not done since 8th grade, Martin placed 3rd in the triple jump, with another district mark of 35' 0".  Senior Tae Ellis started her season off well, winning the shot put with a distance of 34' 3", qualifying for districts and also placing 2nd in the discus.  Junior Caroline Duffy had a fantastic opening to her 2015 season, winning the 200M dash with a district time of 26.14 seconds, placing 2nd in the 100M dash and also anchoring the 4x100 relay with Amy Domenick, Kelly Groth and Gianna Fazio to a 2nd place finish and a district mark of 50.78 seconds.  Rounding out the district qualifiers was freshman Fallon Brown in the high jump.  Brown set a PR in the event, clearing 5' 1" and placing 2nd.

Other medalist for the Lady Warriors were:  Rainah Dunham in the long jump (2nd), Lauren Earnshaw in the Long Jump (3rd), Amy Domenick in the 100M (3rd), Emily Nice in the Discus (3rd), the Distance Medley Team of Lexi Laconi, Emily Owens, Lauren Engleman and Abby Konkoly (4th) and Lexi Short in the javelin (5th).

The team hopes to open their PAC 10 season by hosting Boyertown on Wednesday.
