Girls Track Voluntary Practice on Monday 11/11

Athletes planning to attend the voluntary practices for the Girls Winter Track and Field team should plan to meet in the Student Commons at 2:50 pm, prepared to practice outdoors. Practice should conclude by 5 pm.

Girls Winter Track and Field Pre-season Meeting

There will be a Girls Winter Track and Field Meeting for all athletes interested in participating on the 2018-2019 team on Tuesday, October 30 from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm in the LGI. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are interested in coming out for the team, please email Coach Ronzano (rronzano@methacton.org) prior to October 30. Voluntary practices will begin on Monday, November 12.

Girls Track and Field opens at Ursinus with a near record-breaking performance

The Girls Track and Field team opened their season against more than 70 schools at the Ursinus High School Invitational. Senior Nickie Annelli set a personal best and was only 1/4" from the school record in the Pole Vault, finishing 2nd in the event with a vault of 11' 0". The 4x200 Relay of Juliana Keenan, Camille Dunham, Meredith O'Donnell and Shannon O'Brien finished 2nd overall with a time of 1:52.82. Junior Camille Dunham continued her outstanding afternoon finishing 5th in both the long jump (16' 4") and the triple jump (33' 4").  Sophomore Madi Eastmure finished 8th in the 55M Hurdles with a big PR of 9.16 sec. Her time is about .3 seconds from the State Championship standard. Another top 10 performance came from freshman Coco Dunham. Competing in the triple jump for the first time, she finished 10th with a leap of 31' 6.25".

The Lady Warriors travel to both Lehigh University and Staten Island, NY next weekend. 

Girls Winter Track Practice for Friday 11/16 and Monday 11/19

Due to the cancellation of school, there will be no Girls Winter Track and Field practice on Friday, November 16. We will plan to have our first mandatory practice on Monday, November 19. 

Any athlete that has not turned in their completed physical, eligibility form, emergency card and team rules should plan to do so on Monday. Forms should be turned into the Athletic Office. Athletes without the completed forms will not be able to participate.

Girls Track and Field takes home several medals at Lehigh and NY over the weekend

The Girls Track and Field team traveled to Lehigh University on Friday night and then took a trip to Staten Island for another meet on Sunday. 

Juniors Corrine Meyer and Camille Dunham led the way at Lehigh with "Meet of Champions" qualifying performances. Meyer set an Indoor PR with a clearance of 4' 11", qualifying for the post-season meet. Dunham qualified in two events, the Long Jump and the Triple Jump. Placing 6th in both events, she jumped 16' 2" in the Long Jump and 34' 4" in the Triple Jump.

Several underclassmen found the medal stand in NY. Sophomore Madi Eastmure continued to improve in the 55M Hurdles, finishing 2nd in a time of 9.22 seconds. Freshman Coco Dunham also picked up a silver medal in the freshman long jump with a leap of 14' 10.5". Ryley Hydock also earned a medal in the freshman High Jump with a clearance of 4' 6". The freshman 4x400 relay of Lauren Haarmeyer, Kristen Riddell, Devon Petrei and Shannon O'Brien also finished 4th with a time of 4:37.30. Camille Dunham came back to compete on Sunday, this time finishing 5th in the Triple Jump with a performance of 34' 3.75". In addition to the 5 medals, Kristen Riddell (1000 meter run) and Julianna Keenan (300 meter run) each cracked the Methacton All-time Top Ten in their event.

The girls will return to Lehigh on Friday for their last meet before Winter Break.

Parent Meeting for Girls Winter Track and Field

There will be a meeting for the parents of athletes participating on the Girls Winter Track and Field team on Tuesday, November 27 at 6:30 pm in the Faculty Dining Room. We hope to see all parents at the meeting.

Girls Winter Track post their best performance of the season at PSU

The Girls Winter Track and Field team traveled to Penn State over the weekend against some of the top teams from PA, NJ, MD, OH, DE and NY. Several girls had their best performance of the season, including an outstanding meet by junior Camille Dunham. Dunham placed 4th in the Triple Jump with a leap of 35' 5.5", which is currently 11th best in the State and a PR by more than 1 foot. She also had a PR in the Long Jump of 16' 8", placing 7th in the event. Another top 10 performance in the meet came from Corinne Meyer, placing 9th with a clearance of 4' 10". 

Juliana Keenan and Shannon O'Brien each had their best 400M time of the season (1:02.79 and 1:03.60 respectively - Keenan also had a PR in the 60M Dash with a time of 8.36 sec) and also combined with Dunham and Meredith O'Donnell to place 14th in the 4x200 Relay (best time of the season of 1:51.22) and with O'Donnell and Kristen Riddell in the 4x400 Relay to place 13th (best time of the season of 4:21.44. Riddell also had set a PR in the 800M with a time of 2:33.69. 

The Lay Warriors travel to Lehigh University on Friday for their next meet.

Dunham lead Girls Track and Field at Lehigh

Camille Dunham continued her strong season with a pair of outstanding performances at Lehigh University on Friday night. In a meet showcasing over 60 schools throughout the Delaware Valley, Dunham placed 2nd overall with a triple jump of 35' 5", currently the 12th best performance in PA. Dunham also set a PR in the shot put with a throw of 29' 1.75". 

Senior Nickie Annelli, curently #10 in PA in the Pole Vault, placed 4th in the event at the meet. Other outstanding performances included seasons best performances by:  Devon Petrei in the 800M (2:41.68), Sabrina Williams in the 60M Hurdles (10.48), Kristen Riddell in the mile (5:52.98) and Rory Stein in the Pole Vault (7' 6"). The will return to Lehigh next Friday as additional athletes attempt to qualify for the post season.
